FIGHT OR FLIGHT
"Ronni Smith is a Perth-based artist whose work explores the human experience through the intersections of psychology, the nervous system, spirituality and nature. Her upcoming exhibition Fight or Flight explores the themes of trauma and our stress responses through a series of paintings and drawings featuring iconic Australian animals as symbolic guides helping us navigate danger as we and find peace and protection on our journey.
With a background in both creative and therapeutic practice, Ronni weaves together elements of myth, nature, and a rich inner life to create works that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Her art reflects a deep interest in how the body holds memory, how survival instincts shape identity, and how beauty and vulnerability coexist in the human condition.
Alongside her visual art, Ronni is an Emotional Clearing & Spiral Practitioner, and currently training to qualify as a Psychotherapist. Her creative process is informed by years of guiding others through emotional clearing and transformation. She approaches artmaking as both a personal practice of inquiry and a collective invitation to reflect, feel, and reconnect.
